April 2010

1st Vice President Report:

1. Membership: Upon last review there are still Board members that require update of dues. (Sorry to have asked already, now maybe I'm telling... doubt that you will be removed however!)
That said, if we receive 100% of returning 2009 Members we will achieve over 100 Members in 2010. (Ed Miles, Please send me any updates.)
Though our attendance at meetings as of late have been low we still continue to attract new attendees and first time members.
Now that we have Wayne Ward as a Member at Large connected to a distant area (Redding, Chico) perhaps our footprint has an opportunity to grow.

2. Website: I have begun to post "CCSRA Week in Review" based upon my observations during Association Cup. Hope to add more in the coming days/week.
Please inform me of any outdated material, Dates, Events, ect. or errors when you come across any.

Current postings include: Upcoming Meeting and Instructional Agenda, Upcoming Spring Clinic.
I NEED TO POST ASAP!!! that our own Jake Schmitz is recipient of 2010 Male State Youth Referee of the Year this past Saturday at the CYSA AGM. (Will also post on Groups)

3. CYSA AGM Referee Meetings: Kampmeinert and I attended the CYSA AGM this past Saturday to mainly attend the Youth Referee of the Year Awards.
General Report is that the Vendors Show appears to have dwindled a good amount from the time I attended several years ago.
Jake Schmitz received the Male Youth Referee of the Year for Cal-North!!! and is already selected to attend the Far West Regionals in Arizona.
Mike and I also attended a session by the Santa Clara Youth Soccer Association and Bob Evans. The Topic was Referee Training and Mentoring. They have an excellent Program in the third year of its development. It appears to be a model to both duplicate and learn from.

4. Consideration of New Operational Procedures/Model: After several months of consideration and reflection upon the successes of CCSRA's influence upon the membership and community combined with the weaknesses and low participation/attendance of monthly general meetings/instruction Mike and I had a lengthy debate upon modifying the CCSRA Model.
We think we have the correct motivation and vision and will propose it to the Board during the next Conference call. Please be prepared to discuss your own thoughts regarding what is working and why. What is not working and why. Your ideas for improvement. Then we will share our thoughts before we move in any new direction.

5. Spring Clinic: Jake as you are managing the Pass Back Program I want to ask you this. 1) are you attending the Clinic on April 24th? If so would you be able to bring all/most items to the event for display at our CCSRA Service Station. I plan to man the tent to encourage CCSRA Registration and will distribute any merchandise. PLEASE let me know asap so that we can arrange to do this.

That is it for now... I think...

Member-at-Large Report (Ward):

I attended the last meeting and I am also concerned about the low
attendance. This is an area we need to work on. We may need to send out a
reminder email before each meeting to generate attendance.

CCSRA turn out at Assoc Cup on March 13 was great. Many feedbacks were give
to Referees. I would recommend we go down a level to the Clubs and do a
mentor Day during the season at each Club in the Dist. I believe we need to
upgrade performance before Referees come up to the Cup games.

One of my goals is to form a sub chapter in the Chico area. I have suggested
this in the past and received encouragement from Mike and Colin. I see Colin
has mentioned this effort in his report.

End of report.
